Practical tips for your hikes

When hiking around Agde, it’s best to do so in spring or autumn to take advantage of milder temperatures. However, it is also possible to find shady paths to walk without fear of the sun and the heatwave.
In winter, this is rarer, but it is also possible to go walking on a sunny day. Beware, however, of slippery passages due to the cold and damp of the season.

Remember to bring at least a hat, 1.5 liters of water, hiking boots and binoculars.

To help you keep track of your route and your performance, use applications such as AllTrails or Visiorando. You’ll have access to the GPS track, as well as information on your route (altitude difference, duration, difficulty, photos), and you can also share your activity on social networks.

And, although it may seem obvious, please don’t leave any garbage and stay on the paths to respect our environment.

The Hérault department’s ambition is to obtain UNESCO World Heritage status for its Terres d’Hérault Geopark. This involves protecting and promoting the local geological heritage, while raising visitor awareness. Finally, developing this geotourism will help to develop the local economy (culture, agriculture, crafts, etc.), thus supporting sustainable tourism.
