Other markets near Agde

The list below is provided by the Cap d’Agde Méditerranée tourist office. Some are weekly, others seasonal. It is therefore likely to be updated each year. This is just an extract, so don’t hesitate to visit their website for more information!

Greener tourism also means greener food

Favoring local markets is also an ecological choice.

No products from the other side of the world, but locally grown or produced.

You limit your carbon footprint while contributing to the local economy.

And let’s face it: there’s nothing better than the taste of sun-ripened fruit bought direct from the grower.

A small gesture, a big impact

To remain consistent with this eco-responsible approach, remember to bring your own fabric bags or wicker baskets.

Refuse plastic bags (which are supposed to be banned anyway) and use reusable containers for your purchases.

It’s simple, but it makes all the difference!

One last tip, which I’m sure you already know: don’t go shopping on an empty stomach! If you’re hungry, you’ll buy more than you should. And in this European Week for Waste Reduction, with its theme of Eat Better, Waste Less, we thought we’d remind you!

And after the market?

Why not extend the experiment?

Here are a few ideas to satisfy your cravings for local produce and gourmet activities:

  • Local picnic : Take your finds to the banks of the Hérault or to the beach.
  • Cooking workshops: Turn your purchases into a typical Agatha meal (ratatouille, tielles, or homemade tapenade).
  • Estate tours: Some local winemakers offer tastings and tours to learn all about the region’s wines.
